Softball Recap: Peoria Takes a Loss

Peoria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 42nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westview Knights. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 10-4 to the Knights when the teams met back in April of 2016, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Anieah Lewis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Zoe Williams, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

Peoria's loss dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Westview, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-9.

While Peoria had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
