Glen Rose took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 10-2 margin over Jim Ned. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jeg Shirley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Glen Rose is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise.
At the plate, Joe Randell was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Adrian Sanchez, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Godley came tearing into Friday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Yellowjackets 20-1. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.
Grayson Crane looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Braxton Spohn was a standout: he scored three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Daily, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Godley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ferris only posted an OBP of .381.
Godley pushed their record up to 18-2-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Glen Rose, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
