Basketball Recap: Caldera Now 11-2 over Last 13 Games

Caldera won the last time they faced Bend and things went their way on Tuesday too. Caldera came out on top against the Bend Lava Bears by a score of 71-58. Given Caldera's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Bend is ranked 98th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bend lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Caleb Unruh, who posted 19 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Spencer Dildine, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.

Caldera has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points over those games. As for Bend, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Looking ahead, Caldera will be playing in front of their home fans against Ridgeview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Caldera's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. As for Bend, they will square off against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bend is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season.
