Volleyball Recap: Las Vegas Falls Despite Big Games from Aaliyah Jones and Veanka Escobedo

Las Vegas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Campbell Sabers.

Despite the defeat, Las Vegas had strong showings from Veanka Escobedo, who had ten digs, and Aaliyah Jones, who had eight kills and six digs. Jones is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 14 games she's played.

Las Vegas' loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Campbell, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Las Vegas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Silverado on the 30th. As for Campbell, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Nanakuli at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Sabers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
