It may have taken  nine innings to finish the job, but Danville ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Centennial Chargers  3-2. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive  victory against them.
 Deana Linares spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two  runs (both of which were unearned)  on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in seven consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Danville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kendall Rannenbarger, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and one  stolen base. That  stolen base marked the first that  Rannenbarger has  snagged this season. Another  was  Paisley Bean, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI.
Danville's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Centennial, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the  defeat, which was their sixth straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Coming up, Danville will welcome Georgetown-Ridge Farm  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Buffaloes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.27  runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Centennial, they will head out to  face off against Paxton-Buckley-Loda  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Chargers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on  an  eight-game losing streak.
