Basketball Recap: Westminster Lions vs. Segerstrom Jaguars
The Westminster Lions were the 91-62 winner over the Segerstrom Jaguars when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Westminster took a 79-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Westminster lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Vincent Ton, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eric Hoang, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Westminster and nudges their season record down to 13-10. As for Segerstrom, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westminster will take on the Seahawks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Ocean View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for Segerstrom, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Knights at 6:30 p.m. Katella is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
