Baseball Game Preview: Midwood Hornets vs. Grand Street Campus Wolves

Midwood hasn't had much luck against Grand Street Campus recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Wolves at 3:30 p.m. The last three games Midwood has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Midwood sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Luperon.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grand Street Campus). They put the hurt on Manhattan Center for Science & Math with a sharp 25-2 victory on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Grand Street Campus has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Midwood, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-5-1.

Midwood might still be hurting after the 18-2 defeat they got from Grand Street Campus when the teams last played back in April. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
