Baseball Game Preview: Green Mountain Chieftains vs. Otter Valley Otters

Green Mountain hasn't had much luck against Otter Valley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Chieftains will welcome the Otters at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Green Mountain is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: White River Valley, who was ranked second at the time (Green Mountain was ranked 16th). The Chieftains fell 6-3 to the Wildcats on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Otter Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Leland & Gray.

Otter Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Whitney, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. That RBI was Whitney's first of the season.

Green Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Otter Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
