Recap: Gilead Christian Eagles vs. Elgin Comets
The Gilead Christian Eagles lost against the Elgin Comets back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Gilead Christian was outmatched by Elgin at home and fell 59-15. Gilead Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-8.
Leading Elgin to victory were Delainy Boles and Maycee Muselin. Boles scored 13 points, while Muselin scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Jordan Wall was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 3 steals.
Gilead Christian now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Elgin, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilead Christian will take on Kingsway Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Kingsway Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 last Tuesday. As for Elgin, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Fairbanks at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Fairbanks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday.
