Hamshire-Fannett won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They came up short against the Silsbee Tigers, falling 69-48. The Longhorns' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Silsbee found their leader in sophomore Payton Jones, who went 10 for 22 on his way to 31 points and three steals. The contest was Jones' 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Rice, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points and five rebounds.

Hamshire-Fannett's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Silsbee, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-8.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Stafford the next time they take the court. Silsbee will head out to face Stafford at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Hamshire-Fannett will play them later in the day, at 10:30 a.m.
