After a string of six wins, Jefferson's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 65-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bullard Panthers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Panthers are ranked 436th).

Jefferson's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-3. As for Bullard, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will head out to square off against Hughes Springs at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson is facing Hughes Springs at the right time seeing as Hughes Springs is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Bullard, they will face off against Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
