Basketball Game Preview: Seminole Indians vs. Decatur Eagles

The Seminole Indians will face off against the Decatur Eagles on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Seminole is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past San Elizario 69-23. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.

Meanwhile, Decatur waltzed into their contest on Thursday with 25 straight wins... but they left with 26. They breezed past the Lobos to the tune of 58-26. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Lobos are ranked 94th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Seminole pushed their record up to 29-7 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points over those games. As for Decatur, their victory bumped their record up to 32-3.

Seminole couldn't quite finish off Decatur in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 and fell 50-47. Can Seminole avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
