Calhoun Academy is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Marvell Academy. The Cougars put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 32-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.

Despite the loss, Marvell Academy still got an impressive performance from Jorden Miller, who rushed for 98 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries. Miller really tore up the turf during one magnificent 95-yard run.

The victory made it two in a row for Calhoun Academy and bumps their season record up to 3-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 28 points in those games. As for Marvell Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Calhoun Academy and Marvell Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cougars are set to take on their familiar foe Columbus Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Marvell Academy will face off against rival Lee Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
