Soccer Game Preview: New Braunfels vs. Boerne-Champion

The New Braunfels Unicorns will challenge the Boerne-Champion Chargers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Tuesday, New Braunfels didn't have quite enough to beat Smithson Valley and fell 2-1.

New Braunfels' goal came courtesy of Ryder Mosqueda, who's now up to nine this season.

Meanwhile, Boerne-Champion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Pieper. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 549th, while the Warriors are ranked 68th).

New Braunfels' defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Boerne-Champion, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
