Soccer Recap: Willamette Extends Winning Streak to Four

With a playoff win on the line, Willamette rose to the challenge on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the McNary Celtics. The win was all the more spectacular given Willamette's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked 68th, while McNary are ranked 17th).

The victory was the fourth in a row for Willamette, bringing their record up to 8-4-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four matchups. As for McNary, their loss ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4-3.

As of now, neither Willamette nor the Celtics have any future games scheduled.
