Recap: Delphi Community Oracles vs. Taylor Titans
The Delphi Community Oracles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 49-42 to Taylor. Delphi Community has struggled against Taylor recently, as their match on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Delphi Community lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chase Almager. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Almager scored a full 50% of Delphi Community's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Jones, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Taylor found their leader in underclassman Dre McClatchey, who scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Connor Binnion was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Delphi Community's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Taylor, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delphi Community will be home for the holidays to greet Pioneer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Taylor will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rossville at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
