Baseball Recap: Woodland Finds Playoff Glory Versus Marysville

With a playoff win on the line, Woodland rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Marysville Indians by a score of 4-0. The Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

David Tanner was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Tanner was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cohen Dwyer, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was JoJo Quezada, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Woodland's record is now 22-8. As for Marysville, they dropped their record down to 8-19-1 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Coming up, Woodland will face off against Linden at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. Marysville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
