Recap: Paradise Honors Panthers vs. Dysart Demons
After a string of four wins, the Paradise Honors Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 61-50 loss to Dysart. Paradise Honors found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up seven fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the defeat, Paradise Honors saw an underclassman step up: Tj Harris scored 21 points. Harris is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 16 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of David Leszczynski, who scored 14 points.
Dysart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nigel Anderson, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Anderson hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Nate Morales was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Paradise Honors' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8. As for Dysart, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Paradise Honors the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Thunderbird at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Thunderbird is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Dysart, they will challenge Tempe at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tempe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Dysart is ranked 44th).
