Baseball Recap: Compton Early College Takes a Loss

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Compton Early College was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against the Dominguez Dons, falling 20-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rising Phoenix of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2022.

Compton Early College dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Dominguez, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-1-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Compton Early College will head out to challenge Savanna at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dominguez, they are taking a road trip to face off against Paramount at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Dominguez is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
