Football Recap: Nimitz Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jevon Woolfolk and Jaylin Harris

Nimitz was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the Irving Tigers. Even if the Vikings couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Jaylin Harris and Jevon Woolfolk certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Harris rushed for 170 yards while picking up 10.6 yards per carry, while Woolfolk rushed for 110 yards and two TDs. With that strong performance, Woolfolk is now averaging an impressive 101 rushing yards per game.

Nimitz's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Irving, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.

Nimitz didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-14 loss against Lake Highlands on the 23rd. As for Irving, they have also already played their next matchup, a 37-0 defeat against Berkner on the 23rd.
