Baseball Game Preview: Smithville Smithies vs. Dalton Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Smithville will face off against Dalton. The Smithies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Smithville took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Dalton a 4-0 shutout.

Not much got past Mason Shutt, who gave up just three hits to keep Dalton off the board.

At the plate, Smithville's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jace Leach, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Smithville's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Dalton, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.
