Chris Barela's Rushing Yards a New Career-High

Starting off the list is La Junta's Chris Barela, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Barela rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 82 yards.

With the win, La Junta broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4. Barela and La Junta will square off against Florence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Woodland Park Gets a Boost from Joseph Schoenberger in 42-6 Victory

Marqus Joseph Schoenberger's big game helped extend Woodland Park's winning streak to seven on Friday. Joseph Schoenberger turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 94 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 27 yards and a touchdown. He didn't just play on offense: he also made three total tackles and defended a pass.

Woodland Park pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Joseph Schoenberger will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Manitou Springs on Friday.

Manitou Springs had to settle for second on Thursday, but Logan Moore sure wasn't going down easily. Moore was unstoppable, rushing for 133 yards and two touchdowns.

Lamar's probably not too fond of Moore given he always seems to get the better of them. Moore rushed for 113 yards on only 15 carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Thunder duked it out back in October of 2023.

Trey Reed Dazzles in Woodland Park Victory

Trey Reed's big game helped extend Woodland Park's winning streak to seven on Friday. Reed was dynamite, rushing for 153 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.

This season, Reed has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 79.7 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 11.14 rushing yards per game.

Parker Shreeve and Co. Win Seventh in a Row

Woodland Park picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Parker Shreeve. Shreeve was dynamite, picking up two sacks and making nine total tackles.
