Basketball Recap: Siletz Valley vs. McKenzie Eagles
Siletz Valley have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They snuck past McKenzie with a 37-33 win on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Siletz Valley also won the last time the pair played back in January.
McKenzie lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rhys Hamlow, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Withalm, who scored five points along with six steals and two blocks.
Siletz Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season. As for McKenzie, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
Siletz Valley will head out on the road to square off against the Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mohawk is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. McKenzie will take on the Lakers at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
