Softball Game Preview: Valley City Hi-Liners vs. Fargo Davies Eagles

The Valley City Hi-Liners will venture away from home to take on the Fargo Davies Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Valley City's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Fargo South as they made off with a 13-0 win.

The team relied heavily on Bailey Leroux, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Hartsell, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

While Fargo Davies didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Fargo South 12-1 on Friday. The victory was just business as usual for the Eagles, who after four games remain undefeated this season.

The win got Valley City back to even at 2-2. As for Fargo Davies, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Valley City came out on top in a nail-biter against Fargo Davies in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hi-Liners since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
