Sealy is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Almeta Crawford is on a seven-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigers will welcome the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It was a proper cat-fight when Sealy took on La Marque on Friday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 15-1 win.
Blaine Fink made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fink was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Blanks, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Hagen Anderson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Meanwhile, Almeta Crawford put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let Fort Bend Willowridge get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory.
Like Sealy, Almeta Crawford also got a great game from a two-way player: Chris Anderson. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Anderson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Aiden Hernandez looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Almeta Crawford got a massive performance out of Dailon Ferguson, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave Ferguson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Crue LaGrandeur, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Almeta Crawford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Bend Willowridge only posted an OBP of .100.
Almeta Crawford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Sealy, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
