Softball Game Preview: Marshall Eagles vs. Mountain View Vikings

Marshall is 1-9 against Mountain View since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Eagles will face off against the Vikings at 3:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Marshall played against El Monte on Thursday and lost via forfeit.

Mountain View is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against El Monte on Wednesday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 8-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Marshall is on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10. As for Mountain View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Marshall suffered a grim 18-1 defeat to Mountain View in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
