Baseball Recap: Irvin Takes a Loss

Irvin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 8-5 to the Austin Panthers. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Julian Chacon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Irvin's loss dropped their record down to 4-12-1. As for Austin, their win ended a 15-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-14.

Looking ahead, Irvin will venture away from home to challenge Bowie at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bowie has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.53 runs per game on average), something Irvin will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Austin, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Ysleta at 6:30 p.m.
