Basketball Game Preview: Spartanburg Vikings vs. Eastside Eagles

The Spartanburg Vikings and the Eastside Eagles will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Eastside took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Spartanburg, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Spartanburg strolled past Boiling Springs with points to spare, taking the game 54-36.

Meanwhile, Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Gaffney and fell 82-39. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-15.

Spartanburg's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-10. As for Eastside, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Spartanburg came up short against Eastside when the teams last played back in December of 2017, falling 42-38. Can Spartanburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
