Football Game Preview: Argonaut Mustangs vs. Amador Buffaloes + How To Watch

The Argonaut Mustangs will square off against the Amador Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Argonaut has given up an average of 33.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Argonaut is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Bradshaw Christian on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs lost 35-14 to the Pride. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Although Argonaut took the loss, they still got scores from Jerome Lundgren and Adam Garcia.

Meanwhile, Amador had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 48-22 margin over the Cougars. The Buffaloes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 26 points or more this season.

Argonaut better keep an eye on Brad Blankenheim. He was instrumental in Amador's win, rushing for 185 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 155 yards and three TDs on only 12 passes. With that strong performance, Blankenheim is now averaging an impressive 111 rushing yards per game. Amador's leading receiver John McPartland was Blankenheim's top target yet again, picking up 99 receiving yards and three scores.

Amador was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 316 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Amador now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Argonaut, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
