Recap: Cape Hatteras Hurricanes vs. Manteo Redskins
The Cape Hatteras Hurricanes's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They came out on top against Manteo by a score of 49-42. The victory was just what Cape Hatteras needed coming off of a 63-22 defeat in their prior game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cape Hatteras to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elizabeth Fairbanks, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Fairbanks has scored at least 25% of Cape Hatteras' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Philips, who scored 17 points.
Several Redskins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was CeCe Lowe, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sydney Ballance, who scored 11 points.
Cape Hatteras' victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Manteo, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cape Hatteras will take on Croatan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Manteo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
