Softball Recap: Century Centurions vs. Agape Christian Knights

Century had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Agape Christian Knights on Friday as the Century Centurions made off with an 11-2 victory. Century's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ashton Dillow was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Dillow was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with an RBI.

In other batting news, Jaylee VanMeter was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played. Karleigh Jones was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Century's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Agape Christian, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Century will face off against Egyptian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Century is facing Egyptian at the right time seeing as Egyptian is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Agape Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cobden at 4:30 p.m. on April 16th.
