Volleyball Recap: York Institute Takes a Loss

If York Institute was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Red Boiling Springs on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dragons fell just short of the Gordonsville Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Dragons have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Gordonsville can attribute much of their success to Christina Ray, who had 16 digs. That's the most digs Ray has posted over her last six matchups.

York Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Gordonsville, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

York Institute has already played their next match (against Stone Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Gordonsville, they will face off against Livingston Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
