Recap: Tradition Prep Pirates vs. Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans
The Tradition Prep Pirates had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They secured a 69-65 W over Somerset College Prep Academy. With that victory, Tradition Prep brought their scoring average up to 51.1 points per game.
Leading Tradition Prep to victory were Jayden Harris and Drew Armstrong. Harris scored 15 points, while Armstrong scored 22 points. The contest was Harris' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aydan Fields, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Somerset College Prep Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayvis Chitolie, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Alex Laurent was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Tradition Prep now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Somerset College Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tradition Prep will be home for the holidays to greet Inlet Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Inlet Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Somerset College Prep Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Somerset Academy - Canyons at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th. Somerset Academy - Canyons presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Somerset College Prep Academy in Florida (Somerset Academy - Canyons is ranked 192nd, while Somerset College Prep Academy is ranked 462nd).
