Basketball Game Preview: Brandon Eagles vs. Hillsborough Terriers

Brandon hasn't had much luck against Hillsborough recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Brandon Eagles will be playing at home against the Hillsborough Terriers at 6:30 p.m. Brandon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Hillsborough likes a good challenge.

Brandon is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Jefferson by a score of 69-60 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.

Brandon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Messiah McKinley led the charge by putting up 18 points. McKinley's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Cole, who posted 16 points.

Meanwhile, Hillsborough was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 90-73 bruising from Sickles. While losing is never fun, the Terriers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 704th, while the Gryphons are ranked 176th).

Brandon's win ended a 16-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-13. As for Hillsborough, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
