Football Game Preview: Olympus Titans vs. Woods Cross Wildcats

The Olympus Titans will venture away from home to face off against the Woods Cross Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Olympus will be strutting in after a victory while Woods Cross will be coming in after a defeat.

Olympus took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 24-0 margin over Viewmont. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 23 points or more this season.

Olympus' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Preston Ferran, who threw for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. Adam Bywater was in the mix too, providing the Titans with two TDs.

Olympus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sam Brown and Bywater. Olympus is 2-1 when Brown posts one or more interceptions, but 2-3 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Woods Cross faced Brighton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wildcats took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bengals. The Wildcats have struggled against the Bengals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

The victory got Olympus back to even at 4-4. As for Woods Cross, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Olympus against Woods Cross in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-21 win. In that matchup, the Titans amassed a halftime lead of 35-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
