Basketball Recap: Polk County Comes Up Short

Polk County played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 79-55 to the East Rutherford Cavaliers. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Cavaliers recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Despite the loss, Polk County still got an impressive performance from Aaron Jackson, who went 11-for-18 on his way to 28 points and six rebounds. Jackson's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Khristian Littlejohn was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Jj Arrowood was a one-man wrecking crew for East Rutherford as he dropped a double-double with 17 points and 20 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Arrowood a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Matthew Pinkerton, who posted nine points and eight assists.

Polk County's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for East Rutherford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-17.

Coming up, Polk County will take on Brevard at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Brevard will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Polk County surely won't give up without a fight. East Rutherford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
