Baseball Game Preview: Edison Vikings vs. Chavez Titans

For the second straight game, Edison will face off against Chavez. The Vikings will head out to challenge the Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Edison played in-conference for the first time on Wednesday and got just the result they were looking for. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Chavez. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Santiago Moreno was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alberto Cervantes, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. That home run was his first of the season. Charles Rose was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Edison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Edison's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10-1. As for Chavez, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-20.
