The Seymour Wildcats will square off against the Hand Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Seymour is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Goodwin RVT a 15-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the game before.
Nobody will forget Cassidy Marcinczyk's heroic performance anytime soon (especially Goodwin RVT's batters): she turned in a perfect game. Marcinczyk has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maggie Sudimick, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daphne Shea, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Seymour was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 14-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Hand never got on the board in their matchup last Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy on Monday. They put the hurt on the Phoenix with a sharp 20-0 victory. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Grace Hall was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Hall was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Alexa Young was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Phoebe Brennan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
Hand is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Seymour, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Seymour hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .385. However, it's not like Hand struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
