Basketball Recap: Murray Comes Up Short

Murray lost against Jordan back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Murray Spartans took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jordan Beetdiggers. The game marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the loss, Murray saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooklyn Richter dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. Richter has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times she's played. Brinley Forsyth was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Jordan was led to victory by Felita Tauvao and Tess Jacobson. Tauvao dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Jacobson dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was June Joseph, who posted five points and ten rebounds.

Murray's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Jordan, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Murray will head out to take on Riverton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jordan, they will host Cottonwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cottonwood will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Jordan surely won't give up without a fight.
