Softball Game Preview: Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros vs. Century Centurions

Rancho Alamitos is a perfect 4-0 against Century since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Vaqueros will head out on the road to challenge the Centurions at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Rancho Alamitos' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last 11 contests.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Rancho Alamitos and Bolsa Grande meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Vaqueros put the hurt on the Matadors with a sharp 20-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vaqueros, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Century lost 22-12 to Saddleback on Friday.

Rancho Alamitos has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.9 runs over those games. As for Century, they dropped their record down to 9-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Rancho Alamitos took their victory against Century in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 13-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vaqueros since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
