Volleyball Recap: Gilroy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Brooke Rogers and Bella Gutierrez

Gilroy lost against Mountain View back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Gilroy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-22, 24-26, 22-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Despite the loss, Gilroy had strong showings from Bella Gutierrez, who had 27 digs and three assists, and Brooke Rogers, who had 20 assists and six digs. With that strong performance, Gutierrez is now averaging an impressive 10.5 digs per game.

Gilroy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Mountain View, their win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13.

Gilroy has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Gunderson on the 21st. As for Mountain View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Monta Vista on the 23rd.
