Volleyball Recap: Dobbs Ferry Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Dobbs Ferry fell just short of Eastchester by a score of 3-2. If Dobbs Ferry was looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to Eastchester when the teams met back in October of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Dobbs Ferry sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-15, 23-25, 25-9, 22-25, 15-7.

Hollen Peet paced Dobbs Ferry's offense, picking up nine kills. Peet were helped by Layla Wilbekin and Grace Demitrovic, who contributed 12 assists each. Wilbekin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Dobbs Ferry moved to 14-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Eastchester, their win ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dobbs Ferry will host Hendrick Hudson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastchester, they will take on Harrison at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
