Softball Recap: Symmes Valley Wins High-Profile Match Against Point Pleasant

Symmes Valley is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Point Pleasant. The Vikings' pitchers stepped up to hand the Big Blacks a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Vikings have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Symmes Valley, bringing their record up to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Point Pleasant, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-4.
