Baseball Game Preview: Cabrillo Jaguars vs. Woodrow Wilson Bruins

Cabrillo hasn't had much luck against Woodrow Wilson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cabrillo Jaguars will host the Woodrow Wilson Bruins at 4:00 p.m. This will be Cabrillo's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

Cabrillo is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Glenn.

Fernando Leanos was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodrow Wilson). They walked away with a 7-2 win over Valley Christian on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bruins with their most commanding win of the season.

Cooper George made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. George was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eddie Becker, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

The victory got Woodrow Wilson back to even at 4-4. As for Cabrillo, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
