Softball Recap: Central Falls Warriors vs. Classical Purple

Central Falls extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-3 in the process. They came up short against the Classical Purple, falling 17-5. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Purple apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Vanessa Monterozza was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Chaelys Brito Acevedo was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Classical, they now have a winning record of 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win they have posted against Central Falls since June 12, 2021.

On Classical's side, they got a massive performance out of Emmy Tavares, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two triples and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Vivian Hoffman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with six stolen bases and one double.

Central Falls has already played their next matchup, a 19-2 victory against Paul Cuffee on the 18th. As for Classical, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-8 win against Exeter-West Greenwich on the 16th.
