Baseball Recap: Crestview's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pensacola Catholic, Crestview was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Powell County Pirates get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Kaleb Kompoltowicz made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Crestview is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-12 otherwise. Kompoltowicz was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Connor Riffe was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Charley Middlebrooks was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Crestview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Crestview's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13. As for Powell County, their record is now 1-7.

Looking ahead, Crestview will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Fleming County at 3:00 p.m. As for Powell County, they will venture away from home to take on Mason County at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
