Florence's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Blanco Panthers 6-5. The win was some much needed relief for the Buffaloes as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ethan Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Dane Gola was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Cody Carlson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Florence's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 9-10-1. As for Blanco, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-7.

Florence will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
