Basketball Recap: Rawlins County Comes Up Short

Rawlins County won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were dealt an 81-40 defeat at the hands of the Dighton Hornets. The loss continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now lost six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Rawlins County lost, don't look at Tru Dewey. Despite the final result, he made all 5 shots he took for 12 points and three steals. Tanner Lankas also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebound of the season.

It was another big night for Daniel Cramer, who went 13 of 22 en route to 31 points in addition to five assists and three steals for Dighton. The contest was Cramer's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Payton Redburn was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Rawlins County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Dighton, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

Rawlins County will take on Ness City in a tournament on Friday. As for Dighton, they will take on Quinter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Quinter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season.
