Basketball Recap: Purdue Polytechnic Techies vs. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves
After flying high against Columbus East last Tuesday, Purdue Polytechnic came back down to earth. The Purdue Polytechnic Techies fell just short of the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves by a score of 46-43 on Saturday. The Techies have struggled against the Braves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Purdue Polytechnic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Te'Asia Briscoe earned 11 points plus eight rebounds and five blocks. Tayler Denton was another key player, posting eight points plus three steals.
Purdue Polytechnic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Purdue Polytechnic will head out to challenge Christel House at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, they are taking a road trip to face off against Cathedral at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
