Baseball Recap: Andrews Gets the Win

Andrews took a 19-run defeat the last time they faced off against Philip Simmons, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Yellowjackets narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Iron Horses 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.

Brycen Cannon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Andrews' victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Bass, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Andrews' record is now 10-6. As for Philip Simmons, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-4.

Andrews will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Iron Horses: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
